Storage and Transportation Methods of Fruit Shell Activated Carbon in Summer

Feb 14, 2024|

In summer, with high temperatures and frequent precipitation, it is particularly important to pay attention to waterproofing, moisture prevention, and fire prevention when storing and transporting activated carbon from fruit shells. Because charcoal is made from carbon containing substances such as wood chips, coal, and fruit shells through a series of processes, with countless micropores, mesopores, and macropores inside. If waterproofing is not taken into account during storage and transportation, it can cause the pores to be filled with water, affecting the adsorption effect of the charcoal. To prevent water immersion, plastic lining is used in the packaging to provide waterproofing and moisture resistance.

What are the specific uses of charcoal? Charcoal has different uses depending on the finished product. Its main uses include solvent recovery, water purification, air purification, and desulfurization. In order to better utilize the properties of carbon, it is generally necessary to carry out deep processing of carbon during use. What is the process flow for deep processing? Firstly, it is necessary to grind the charcoal, as grinding can increase the surface area of the charcoal. Commonly used European version grinding machines crush to 120-200 mesh. Then proceed with drying.

Use a dryer to dry the carbon, reducing its moisture content to below 10%. Wet carbon enters the cylinder through one end of the feeding port, and due to the inclination and rotation of the cylinder, the material moves forward and is continuously discharged from the discharge port. The material temperature inside the rotary drying furnace is required to be between 120-130 degrees Celsius. During operation, the amount of material added should be controlled according to the furnace temperature to prevent sparks from appearing on dry charcoal. After deep processing, the carbon has been greatly improved in terms of performance, which has greatly expanded its application range. This is also a process to enhance the value of carbon during its use.

In addition, during storage and transportation, carbon should be prevented from coming into contact with fire sources. When charcoal encounters high temperature and oxygen, it is easy to cause the charcoal to become natural.
In addition, during the transportation and loading and unloading of activated carbon from fruit shells, lightweight and lightweight measures are taken to reduce the breakage of carbon particles and avoid affecting the effectiveness of use.
